What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Attendant Part Time position at City of Durango?
Childcare attendant for the Recreation Center Kids Club provides a fun and safe environment for children up to age 8.What You’ll Do in This Role:
- Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Ensure all users are paid for by verifying the receipt or punching their card.
- Ensure only authorized persons are picking up a child from the Kids Club area.
- Keep an organized file of all required paperwork.
- Provide quality activities for children in the Kids Club.
- Interact and supervise the children in Kids Club continuously.
- Provide clear direction and expectations to all users.
- Ensure proper activities are being provided with the appropriate supervision.
- Ensure site is clean and is in compliance with state regulations for school age programs.
- Dress appropriately.
- Report to work at assigned time.
- Verifiable education or training in working with children in such areas as recreation, education, scouting, and/or 4-H.
- Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
- Certified, or the ability to get certified, in CPR/First Aide/AED.
- Experience in a childcare setting or as a teacher/school administrator/camp counselor.
- Skill in operating a computer and relevant software programs.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
