POSITION SUMMARY
This position will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Director of the DIA/Director of Economic Development for the City of Durant. This role involves managing operations for the Office of Economic Development and serving as a key point of contact for internal departments, government agencies, businesses, and community organizations. The position supports the city's mission to drive economic growth and foster community development through effective coordination and administrative excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Administrative Support
o Serve as the primary administrative contact for the Executive Director/Director, liaising with city departments, regional businesses, and state and federal agencies.
o Prepare, compile, and submit economic development reports including but not limited to grant applications, project development reports, incentive reports and related documentation.
o Manage the Director’s schedule, including meetings, public engagements, and economic development events.
o Coordinate and prepare agendas and supporting documentation for meetings as assigned. Takes meeting minutes as assigned.
· Stakeholder Coordination
o Facilitate collaboration with government entities, business leaders, and community organizations to support the city's economic development initiatives.
o Organize stakeholder meetings, public forums, and events aimed at advancing the city’s economic and workforce development goals.
· Project and Data Management
o Conduct research and analyze economic and demographic data to assist with city planning and development projects.
o Track special projects and ensure alignment with deadlines and key deliverables.
· Operational Oversight
o Oversee daily operations of the Office of Economic Development, including budget management, purchasing/procurement, and detailed reporting.
o Assist in supervising and evaluating staff as directed including interns or temporary employees assigned to the office.
· Communication and Representation
o Draft and review internal and external communications, including but not limited to presentations, press releases, and reports for public dissemination.
o Represent the Executive Director/Director at meetings and events when required.
· Travel and Event Coordination
o Manage detailed travel arrangements, ensuring the Executive Director/Director’s participation in key conferences, training, and industry events.
o Coordinate logistics for city-hosted events, such as economic development workshops, training sessions, and summits.
· Policy and Compliance
o Ensure compliance with city policies, as well as state and federal regulations related to economic development initiatives.
o Conduct policy research and provide support on issues affecting the city’s economic growth.
· Special Projects
o Lead or assist with assigned initiatives such as but not limited to: business attraction campaigns, workforce development programs, industry specific event planning, Chamber events, West Side programming and Main Street/Central Business district revitalization efforts.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
