Work Day / Hours : 8 : 00 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m. (40 hours per week)

Position is devoted to the sampling, testing, analysis and reporting for water and wastewater operations and laboratory services for storm water and other programs, departments and activities within the City including the Water Supply and Treatment; Waste Water Division(s); Storm Water Services; Industrial Waste Control Program; Water and Sewer Maintenance; and Public Works / Engineering. Employee will sample, test and analyze results from field samples for water quality of water treatment processes, raw water storage facilities, storm water and wastewater processes.
Responsible for collecting samples; running tests and analyzing samples; maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment; performing housekeeping to maintain work spaces; tracking supply inventory; and preparing regulatory reports.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Samples, tests, and analyzes results from field samples; tests samples to determine water quality of water treatment processes, raw water storage facilities, and storm water and wastewater processes; and assists laboratory customers / clients requesting sampling services.
- Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment; performs housekeeping duties to clean work areas; decontaminates, cleans, sterilizes and / or discards instruments and equipment; and performs basic maintenance related duties.
- Monitors inventory to ensure adequate availability of chemicals and supplies; and reviews purchasing data and makes recommendations to order supplies as needed.
- Prepares regulatory and other reports to document and report test results; compiles information; proofs and reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
