Overnight Custodian - PT
Eagan Civic Arena
Pay: $22.436 - $28.421 per hour, DOQ
Part-time recurring (year-round), Non-Exempt, Not Benefit Eligible
Overnights, up to 24 hours per week
Flexible hours as assigned Sunday - Thursday.
- Clean and maintain all areas and grounds of the Civic Arena and Aquatic Park
- Operate all equipment related to custodial cleaning operations, such as, but not limited to, floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, vacuums, buffers, pressure washers, wet/dry vacs, sweepers etc.
- Perform tasks such as changing light bulbs, washing windows, maintaining restrooms, restocking inventory in custodial storerooms, mopping floors, dusting, repairing/patching walls, light painting, and staining/varnishing woodwork
- Operate snow removal equipment such as blowers, sweepers, shovels and salt spreaders etc.
- Perform room and equipment set-ups and take downs
- Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with appropriate policies, safety and security procedures
- Maintain custodial storerooms and put away supplies as they arrive
- Operate motor vehicle to pick up parts and run errands
- Give work direction/training to other part-time employees performing cleaning/maintenance tasks
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Valid driver’s license
- 1 year experience in a custodial or janitorial role
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position
- Must successfully pass a background check
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience performing custodial or janitorial functions in a similar setting such as Arena/Aquatic facilities, hotels, or schools
Work hours: Up to 24 hours per week. Shifts are overnights and primarily Friday and Saturday evenings. Variation in shift lengths and start times can be accommodated

70% Civic Arena
30% Aquatic Facility
This position requires indoor and outdoor working conditions in which temperatures could reach 100 degrees with high humidity in the summer and 30 below zero in the winter
Physical Demands:

- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, bend and hear
- Frequently may be required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- The employee is occasionally required to climb a ladder, operate a lift, small hand tools and operate a vehicle with multiple hand and feet operations
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision and peripheral vision
