We are looking for two positive, energetic, organized individuals to plan, supervise and lead Camp ECC, a summer-long camp program for youth ages 5-10. Recreation Program Assistants will plan, prepare, implement, and supervise a variety of recreation experiences while providing a safe and secure camp environment.

Schedule & Hours:
Camp ECC runs from Wednesday, June 4th – Friday, August 15th
Camp hours are 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday
No camp July 3rd & 4th, half-day camp on June 19th (7 a.m. - Noon)
This position is 40-hours per week, hours may vary. This position will begin on a part-time basis mid-May to prepare and plan for Camp ECC.

- Assist in the coordination, planning, and day-to-day implementation of camp programs and activities
- Provide work direction and supervision to full and part time Recreation Leaders
- Maintain a safe environment for all camp participants
- Work with and provide service to individuals that reflect the Eagan community
- Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers
- Serve as on-site lead staff member for activities and events as assigned
- Communicate with parents, participants, and the public in a professional and courteous manner
- Communicate with coordinators to keep them informed of any concerns or issues related to staff, participants, or community individuals
- Make decisions and respond to inquiries and concerns relating to participants, programs, staff and public
- Lead staff in light maintenance, which may include room set-up, take-down, and basic cleaning
- Administer basic first aid as needed – training provided!
- Other duties as assigned
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid Driver’s License
- College coursework towards or degree in Parks and Recreation related field
- Previous experience with a Parks and Recreation agency or related field/setting
- Certification in CPR, CPI, First Aid and Concussion Training (Training is available on-line https://www.nays.org/resources/more/free-concussion-training/ )
- Two (2) years of college coursework in recreation, education, event planning, or closely related field
OR
Two (2) years of work experience in recreation-oriented programs, child-care, education, or closely related setting - Experience with 1:1 communication, leadership, and customer service
- Knowledge of Eagan Parks & Recreation Department and its programs
- Experience supervising or providing work direction to part-time, seasonal, and/or volunteer staff or youth.
