Summer, 2025
Pay: $31.293 per hour
Seasonal/Temporary; Not Benefit Eligible
Spend your summer at the region’s largest outdoor municipal waterpark designing and leading fitness classes in a fun, outdoor pool setting.
Water Fitness Instructors start in early June and end in late August (flexible start and end dates). Classes are mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Cascade Bay is an outdoor facility, requiring work in all types of weather conditions.

In this job you will:
- Design and lead water fitness classes that are physically safe and serve the needs of varying fitness levels
- Maintain a dynamic and personable attitude while instructing class participants
- Use proper terminology and language while teaching
- Assist with class equipment set up and take down
- Work with aquatic staff on injury reports as needed
- Follow Cascade Bay policies for guests and staff
- Communicate and work cooperatively with other aquatic staff to maintain a safe class
- Report problems, concerns, and suggestions to management
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and in-service trainings
- Regularly swim, stand, walk, bend, talk loudly, and hear/listen
- Move or shift up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally climb, balance, reach, run, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Other duties as assigned
What is needed to apply for this job?
- 18 years of age or older
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience teaching group water fitness classes in a fitness center, health club, community center, or equivalent
- Experience working with and around people of all ages and fitness levels
- Ability to react quickly and efficiently in a health emergency situation
- Move or shift up to 25 pounds

Working Conditions:
The work environment is both indoors and outdoors and can involve contact with variable weather. The employee will be required to work in all weather conditions experienced in Eagan during the months of May – September. Weather conditions encountered may include air temperatures from -30°F to 100°F, and heat indexes to 110°F, rain, snow, sleet, wind, etc.
Work Hours:
Flexible hours; 20-30 hours per week. Shifts may include early morning, daytime, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays. Positions available mid-May through early September.
