Summary
Supervises, plans, and coordinates the activities and operations of the Facilities maintenance department. Coordinates and monitors assigned activities with other organization units, sites, outside agencies, and contractors.

The Facility Maintenance Supervisor is a first-line working supervisory position responsible for the efficient and effective performance of one or more teams of employees and numerous City properties. Advancement to Facility Maintenance Supervisor is based on need and requires a demonstrated to supervise skilled staff, plan and prioritize work orders, preventative maintenance, projects and services, conduct performance reviews, and apply considerable knowledge of construction trades, air handling systems, and building and mechanical infrastructure maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and participates in the day-to-day organization, staffing, and operational activities for maintenance programs including construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of utilities, and air handling systems.
- Assists and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for Maintenance operations impacting Public Works and Parks departments. Identifies resource needs to accomplish assignments.
- Participates in and assigns maintenance staff to projects and services and evaluates work performed. Provides or coordinates staff training. Works with employees to improve skills.
- Implements the work plan for preventative maintenance activities. Meets with staff to identify, prioritize, and resolve servicing and repair needs. Monitors work flow and results.
- Implements preventative and deferred maintenance programs designed to assure the structural and operating integrity of structures and facilities. Conducts walk-through to observe conditions. Assigns priority and frequency to all repairs.
- Supervises, inspects, and participates in the work performed by outside contractors and internal staff supporting the plan.
- Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures. Reviews with appropriate management staff. Implements improvements
- Assists in development and administration of the budget for maintenance. Processes expenses, ensuring proper use of labor and materials.
- Coordinates maintenance operations with those of other City departments and outside agencies and organizations.
- Prepares cost, time and labor estimates. Assists in the preparation of plans and bids for major construction projects. May manage service contracts for the City.
- Oversees and participates in operation of computer-aided energy management programs.
- Oversees compliance with appropriate laws, codes, and regulations. Implements asbestos, hazardous materials, and energy management goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
