The Facilities Specialist will work closely with the Facilities Technician Coordinator, offering support for daily functions and learning all aspects of each city facility, city owned properties and its operations. This position will be assisting in both preventive maintenance and miscellaneous facility repairs including but not limited to carpentry, commercial plumbing applications, electrical, mechanical, and related tasks.

Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- HVAC equipment maintenance and repair experience.
- Facility maintenance experience.
- Public pool maintenance experience.
- Ability to work with mechanical equipment.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Knowledge and understanding of Excel spreadsheet and document development and Microsoft Word
- Knowledge and understanding of Automated Equipment Text – SMS programming and operation
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- Some community college or trade school with training in any of the following: HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing and/or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.
Special Requirements
To perform the essential functions of the job, an individual must be able to frequently move between sites and position self as needed to complete work, which could include from heights (on ladders, scissors lift, on roofs, etc.) or in confined and/or crawl spaces.
May frequently be required to move light objects and occasionally be required to move up to 50lbs.
Work requires use of petroleum base products, oils, greases, lubricants, rust dissolvers, gasoline and muriatic acid, dry calcium-based pool treatment products.
Work requires use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Must be able to operate office equipment and motor vehicle. Must be able to communicate effectively with other City staff, the public, and other stakeholders.
