Job Summary: |
Preforms thorough working knowledge of life guarding procedures. Work involves teaching swimming lessons, enforcing safety policies, and maintaining pool facilities. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. |
Essential Job Functions: |
Note: This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The list of essential functions below does not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent in this position. a. Teach swimming lessons daily to all ages. b. Lifeguard public swimming sessions to assure safety of public. c. Clean and sanitize bathrooms and pool facilities daily utilizing mops and brooms. d. Maintain good public relations through aquatic services and facilities. e. Prevent accidents in the water and on the decks. f. Rescue and emergency care of accident victims. g. Courteous and diligent enforcement of all rules and regulations as defined in Pool Operations. h. Scrutinize interior of pool and exterior pool area for potential hazards and initiate removal of such hazards. i. Assist in clean-up and maintenance of pool area and admission area. j. Attend all scheduled in-service training. k. Assist Pool Manager in completing daily cash reports. l. Collect pool admission fees and supervise wading pools when not collecting fees. m. Performs related work and reports as assigned. |

Required Work Experience: |
Previous work related experience (i.e. cashier, swimming) |

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities |
a. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor Certificates, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. b. Requires working knowledge of pool operations and procedures. c. Proven work experience as a Content manager |
Equipment Materials: |
General office and safety equipment/materials to include but not limited to the following: · Pool maintenance · Safety equipment |
Work Conditions: |
Individual works outdoors to oversee programs, occasionally indoors for program registration. The job has significant hazards from working outdoors and physical demands are moderate to high. |

While performing the duties of this class, the incumbent is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; use math and mathematical reasoning; perform detailed work, multiple deadlines and concurrent tasks; work with constant interruptions; and interact with staff and the public. |
