About this Position
The Application Support Analyst (also called the Systems Analyst I) will maintain, troubleshoot, and support enterprise applications for the City of Edmond. These will include, but not limited to, systems for Finance, Human Resources, Court Systems, Electric, Water Resources, Building and Safety, and a variety of other municipal departments. Support will include implementation, testing, deployment, training, and post deployment support.
This role will occasionally work hours outside of a normal working schedule according to the department's needs and schedule requirements. They will normally work the alternate schedule from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday and from 7:30 am to 11:30 am on Friday.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge equivalent to 2 years of college
- 4 years of related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Responsibilities
- Assist users with researching application system problems
- Review and analyze problems with application procedures
- Diagnose root causes of issues
- Act as a liaison between users, IT, and vendors regarding application systems
- Use SQL commands to validate data, audit processes, and export information
- Create and update reports using scripting language
- Assist with implementation of new/existing systems
- Develop recommendations to systems, processes, and problems
- Prepare specifications for application systems and log changes
- Import, clean, and validate information from databases
- Participate in user acceptance testing of new and/or enhanced system functionality
Necessary Skills
- Strong analytical background
- Knowledge of enterprise-level computer applications
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
