About This Position
The Building Inspection Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inspection staff, which includes daily management, supervision, and coordination. They also frequently interact with the public and collaborate with external customers on code research and verification.
Qualifications
- General knowledge equal to 2 years of college
- 5 years of related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years of management experience
- People and/or project management
- Must possess a state unlimited license or certification in at least one (1) construction trade and hold certifications for at least 2 residential trades
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
- Advise and confer with the general public
- Review inspection deficiencies to aid inspectors
- Review documents for compliance
- Aid inspection staff with field inspections and provide creative solutions
- Provide customers with proactive, creative solutions to code violations
- Coordinate meetings with contractors to discuss necessary corrections
- Oversee the scheduling of daily inspection activities
- Provide inspection assistance when absences occur
- Keep records of inspections and the number of inspectors on a daily basis
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug, physical, and audio screenings
