What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Tennis Instructor position at City of El Dorado?
The City of El Dorado Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Seasonal Tennis Instructor. In conjunction with the Recreation Foreman, the successful applicant will develop, coordinate, and supervise a summer recreation tennis program for children.
Essential Functions:
- Instruct children in the fundamental skills of tennis
- Create a safe and friendly atmosphere for participants
- Teach fundamentals through fun and interactive lessons and games
- Supervise children on and around the tennis court
- Organize and plan the curriculum of instruction
- Maintain appropriate records
- Assist with special events
- Knowledge of rules of tennis
- Knowledge of tennis fundamentals including but not limited to: forehand, backhand, serve and volley
- Strong tennis playing abilities
- Ability to arrange and coordinate schedules for instruction and play
- Ability to mediate, and problem solve
- Ability to work well with co-workers, participants and the public
- First Aid Certification
- CPR Certification
