JOB TITLE: Seasonal Assistant Waterpark Manager
CLASS: 51 – Seasonal

LOCATION: American Legion Park
REPORTS TO: Waterpark Manager and American Legion Park Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Waterpark Manager is a seasonal supervisory role responsible for assisting in the daily operations, safety, and maintenance of the American Legion Park Waterpark. This position supports the Waterpark Manager in overseeing staff, enforcing policies, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for both employees and patrons.
The Assistant Waterpark Manager reports directly to the Waterpark Manager and the American Legion Park Manager and works closely with them to ensure smooth daily operations. While this role has leadership responsibilities, it operates within the structure set by the Waterpark Manager, who oversees all aspects of waterpark management.
This is a working supervisory position that requires a strong presence at the facility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Operations & Staff Supervision
- Assist in hiring, training, and supervising seasonal staff.
- Maintain staff work schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage at all times.
- Ensure employees are properly trained and following all safety and operational procedures.
- Conduct bi-weekly training and safety meetings for lifeguards.
- Oversee staff rotations and breaks to ensure efficiency and compliance with policies.
- Maintain professionalism and enforce staff expectations, fostering a positive work environment.
Facility & Safety Management
- Assist with routine facility maintenance and cleanliness, including pool cleaning and restroom upkeep.
- Provide first aid care and handle emergency situations as needed.
- Monitor and report all disciplinary issues and incidents to the Waterpark Manager.
- Ensure equipment is in working condition and report any issues that need attention.
- Help coordinate party room rentals and private events held at the waterpark
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Track daily attendance and revenue, balance cash drawers, and prepare deposits.
- Maintain accurate employee timecards and assist with payroll tracking.
- Communicate supply needs and help maintain inventory.
- Ensure all facility doors and gates are secured at closing time.
ELEGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in public pool facility operations is preferred.
- Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid Certification required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Prior experience as a Head Lifeguard or Supervisor in a similar setting preferred.
- Previous management or leadership experience required.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete administrative tasks efficiently.

- Work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Be on call as required for emergencies or urgent facility needs.
REPORTING STRUCTURE & EXPECTATIONS:
The Assistant Waterpark Manager reports to the Waterpark Manager and the American Legion Park Manager. This role is an extension of waterpark leadership, working closely with the Waterpark Manager to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-run facility. The Assistant Manager is expected to uphold department policies, support staff, and contribute to the overall success of the waterpark, maintaining clear communication with the Waterpark Manager regarding daily operations and challenges.
