REPORTS TO: Sports Coordinator and Pool Manager, Seasonal Assistant Pool ManagerPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: Lifeguard & Swim InstructorsDEPARTMENT: Parks & Recreation/Champlin PoolPOSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsible for preventing accidents, rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning, and provide swim test evaluations. Will prepare facility for opening and/or closing. Open pool for daily use by following the pool opening procedures. Assist in Lifeguard training scenarios and swim instruction class outline. Will be responsible for operating pool in the absence of the Pool Manager and Seasonal Assistant Pool Manager. Monitor pool deck and lifeguard awareness at all times. Will assist in maintenance of pool and facility. Work the Admission and Concession counters. Collect admission fees, make change, stock shelves, and answer telephones. Perform other duties as required. As a position directly affecting the safety of others, the employee will be required to comply with all provisions of City of Enid’s substance abuse policy, including random drug and alcohol testing.QUALIFICATIONS: Requires valid Lifeguard certification and CPR certificates and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certificate at time of hire. At least 1 year lifeguard and swim instruction experience. Previous experience with pool operations preferred.
