What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant Analyst position at City of Erie?
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the preparation, analysis, development and monitoring of budgets, automated financial systems, revenues and business management activities on a Citywide basis.
The duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
1. Assist in preparation and administration of the annual City budget and annual audit.
2.Monitor budget performance, perform revenue and expenditure projections, and produce detailed reports and analysis used in decision support by senior management.
3.Manage business and educational travel program. Review travel requests, ensure compliance with City travel policy, train employees on travel authorization procedures, recommend and facilitate adjustments to travel policy as necessary.
4. Audit, balance, and maintain unclaimed property & fire escrow account.
5.Analyze and monitor police and fire overtime, distribute to respective departments. Review Police payroll against OT, Details and Sick slips.
6. Maintain vehicle list for all departments and tracking mileage.
7. Ensure all fixed assets are properly accounted for.
8. Review and prepare vouchers payables and council agenda paperwork for the Finance Department
9. Post, track and maintain convention center loan payments, parking tax, towing fees, amusement tax and other revenues.
10. Reconcile and pay credit card and Amazon bills. Review weekly list of bills and walk list provided by Controller’s Office.
11. Back up for accounts payable, payroll and purchasing functions as needed.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Public Administration or related field with two to three years of professional experience in accounting, financial analysis or government role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, with an emphasis on knowledge in Excel.
Ability to think critically and utilize problem-solving skills in a practical manner.
Self-motivated, ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Effective oral and written communication skills

Pay: $52,728.00 - $55,359.00 per year
