What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard (Seasonal) position at City of Escanaba?
The Recreation Department is seeking qualified seasonal candidates for the positions of CERTIFIED WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI) and/or CERTIFIED LIFEGUARD. Applicants must hold current American Red Cross Certification. Applicants possessing both WSI and Lifeguarding certification are preferred. However, consideration will be given to those who hold a WSI and/or a Lifeguarding certificate.
Duties included for those candidates selected with a WSI and Lifeguarding certification include the planning and teaching of swim lesson classes, lifeguarding, attending in-service training sessions, physical fitness sessions, custodial work, housekeeping, painting, grounds-keeping, and record keeping. Work duty shifts include late morning, afternoon, early evenings, and weekend work. Both full-time and part-time applications will be accepted. All candidates must be at least 16 years of age. Candidates need to be available for work June 1st through August 25th approximately.
