What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Stormwater Technician Intern position at City of Essex Junction?
The City of Essex Junction is seeking two seasonal stormwater technician interns.
The candidate(s) will perform the following functions:
Functions:
- Inspections of stormwater infrastructure
- Collect data
- Create maintenance plans
- Update infrastructure mapping
- Analyze data
- Perform water quality testing
- Inspect construction sites for erosion control measures
- Other water quality-related tasks
The qualified candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience with data collection, be comfortable working long hours outside, and can work independently but also as part of a team. The candidate must have their own transportation and a valid driver's license.
An interest in science, water quality, or engineering is preferred.
As an intern, you can work closely with our experienced team to gain hands-on experience in stormwater management and environmental conservation. This position offers valuable training and the chance to contribute to meaningful projects protecting water quality and supporting sustainable community development.
Pay:
The hourly rate for this position is $18.50 per hour.
Hours:
The work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, from May to August. The hours are subject to change once school starts to accommodate class schedules.
