JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, the Public Works Field Tech I (Wastewater) is responsible for routine cleaning and maintenance of the wastewater system, and responding to wastewater overflows.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to communicate in English, clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school education or equivalent is required. Must have a valid Texas Class “A” C.D.L. Driver’s license, Class “I” Wastewater Collections License, or obtain required licenses within one (1) year of employment. Must be in good physical condition to permit working under adverse weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Lifting loads up to 50 lbs. (measuring up to 36”); carrying up to 50 lbs. (up to 15 feet); pushing/pulling 20 lbs.; gripping/rotating hand tools; stair/step climbing (accessing truck); bending; squatting; kneeling; walking; sitting; standing; near/far vision; accessing sewer structures (manholes, trenches, pipes, etc.); working in outside temperatures including excess heat, cold, and precipitation.
