What are the responsibilities and job description for the HEAD LIFEGUARD - PT position at City of Evansville?
DUTIES:
Provides a safe swimming environment. May coach and teach swim lessons or swim team. Assists the pool manager in training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating part-time aquatic staff. Assists the pool manager in implementation of policies, procedures, and safety rules for pool personnel and the public. Prepares accident and incident records and reports. Reacts quickly and decisively in an emergency and takes charge. Solves problems fairly, calmly, and openly while maintaining efficiency and effectiveness of program offering. Communicates both verbally and in writing. Creates effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Performs other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a lifeguard position. Must be available to work a variety of shifts including weekdays and weekends. Not to exceed 39 hours per week. Must hold or be able to obtain the following certification to ensure current program offerings and safe operation of the pool: Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
