What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Junior Counselor (Elementary Day Camps) position at City of Fairfax?
Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities to engage and entertain elementary-aged children.
Foster a safe, inclusive environment that emphasizes teamwork and cooperation.
Help set up and clean up daily activities, ensuring a clean and organized camp space.
Actively participate in all camp events, including field trips to water parks, theme days, dodgeball, bowling, movies, and more.
Collaborate with fellow counselors and staff to ensure a positive and enjoyable camp experience.
Provide regular updates to parents on camp activities and their child’s participation.

Must be at least 16 years old.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Additional Desirable Qualification:
Previous experience in recreation programs, summer camps, or childcare is preferred.
All candidates must pass a background check.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
Tuberculosis (TB) screening is required for employment.
Mandatory training will take place from June 16th to June 20th.
