Under the supervision of the Water and Wastewater Superintendent, this employee performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation and maintenance of the City’s water and wastewater system infrastructure. These tasks include setting water meters, installing and repairing water and sewer system service mains and lines, installing irrigation meters, landscaping service areas, installing fire hydrants, maintaining tools and equipment, and assisting other departments when needed. This employee operates heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators and dump trucks used to install and maintain water and wastewater system infrastructure. The employee is responsible for the safe operation of all assigned equipment and observing all adopted work site safety regulations and procedures. This employee uses various handheld power tools such as saws and drills in performing work tasks. This job is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to pre-employment background checks and random drug screens.
