Semi-skilled work in the use of light equipment in maintenance and construction work. Involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of a variety of equipment used in the construction and maintenance of parks and other municipal facilities; also includes physical labor.This is a 40 hour per week seasonal position. Work to begin late April or early May. Hours of work are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 to 4 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings. (Weekend shift rotations)
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists in maintaining City park properties. Job duties include maintaining grounds, parks, restrooms, athletic fields and facilities. This includes manual labor and operating grounds maintenance equipment such as weed whips, push and riding lawnmowers.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit and talk or hear use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in indoor and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
