JOB DUTIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Works under the supervision of the Recreation Sports Supervisor.
Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
Supervises baseball and softball activities at the Farmington Sports Complex during the season.
Works closely with the Recreation Sports Supervisor and Assistant to assist in overseeing scorekeepers and officials.
Closes down the Complex at the end of the activity/league play/tournament. This will include locking the restrooms, locking the press boxes, making sure lights turn off in a timely manner.
Works closely with baseball associations, softball associations, tournament directors, and concessionaires with their on-site facility needs.
Responsible for opening press boxes, setting up scoreboards, and monitoring lights at ballfields as needed.
Oversees that participants and spectators at the Sports Complex follow all park rules and regulations.
Responsible for the securing of or the delivery of various paperwork and supplies to the Recreation Center, Recreation Sports Supervisor, and/or Recreation Sports Assistant.
May assist with facilitating Recreation Center and Department events as needed throughout the year.
Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program. This includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing.
Extensive background checks required.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Background in recreation or sports and experience in dealing with the public.
Good public relations skills necessary.
Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED, preferred
Ability to work harmoniously with associates, general public, and organizations.
Must have a telephone at residence.
Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays throughout the year.
Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions.
Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to operate tools and equipment listed.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Telephone, mobile or portable radio, automobile, cash register, calculator, various sports equipment used in recreation.
