Essential Job Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Note: All City of Fayetteville positions require employees to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Other essential duties of this position include the following:
- Communicate regularly with citizens, volunteers, vendors, outside representatives, and related animal services groups and with other City departments as needed. Welcome visitors: front facing customer service is the primary function of this position.
- Answer, screen, direct, and dispatch service calls in accordance with predetermined policy.
- Manage the department calendar and schedule appointments for Public Education and other outreach events.
- Enter data into various computer programs in an accurate manner.
- Assist in monitoring budget.
- Process applications including adoption, foster, and other program related applications.
- Administer the foster program for the division.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail; assemble files and other materials as needed.
- Compose, type, edit and maintain routine to complex forms, correspondence and reports; copy documents some of which are confidential and be able to maintain said confidentiality.
- Maintain records, correspondence, and reports for future reference.
- Gather materials on assigned subjects for preparation of reports and presentations.
- Process purchase orders, check requests and purchasing card transactions.
- Requisition, receive and distribute supplies for the department.
- Develop and maintain filing system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and three years of related experience required.
- Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses and any offense under A.C.A. §21-15-103 and A.C.A. 21-15-111.
- Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
- Must be proficient in the use of a computer and related software programs such as word processing and spreadsheet applications. Must be able to effectively operate standard office equipment.
- While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to effectively communicate in person and on the phone. The employee regularly is required to move from location to location; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities to accomplish computer and office work.
- While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
