This is a safety/security sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.- Perform semi-skilled physical labor to maintain park amenities, trails, landscaping, green spaces, trees, shrubs, turf, and irrigation.
- Operate light and heavy-duty equipment in the construction, maintenance, and repair of park facilities.
- Mow grass and trim weeds on park grounds.
- Prune, trim or remove trees.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning and performing simple repairs.
- Pick up trash on park grounds and trails, empty trash bins and clean restrooms.
- Remove snow and ice from downtown square area and parks and trails.
- Set-up and clean-up for public events held in City parks.
- Repair vandalism and remove graffiti.
- Install holiday lights which typically involves working from aerial lifts and ladders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Secondary duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, offenses against children, and any offense that would qualify to prevent a person from obtaining an Arkansas teaching certificate (A.C.A. 6-17-410).
- Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of distance.
- Must be able to operate various hand and power tools, mowers, bush hogs, utility vehicles, trailers, tractors, backhoes, irrigation systems, scoreboard controllers, blowers, weed-eaters, trimmers, chainsaw, aerial lift, grinder, and chipper.
- While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- While performing the functions of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Salary : $30,659 - $45,802
