Summary
Provide technical and general support for Urban Renewal Authority (URA) programs operations, administration, and special projects. Efforts will focus on coordination of programs, projects, and/or special assignments within the URA related to blight mitigation efforts involving real estate and community outreach.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Urban Planning, Real Estate, Public/Business Administration, Management or related fields is required. A minimum of two years of urban renewal or community development related background and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
None required.
Physical Demands
Normal physical demands related to office work, including the ability to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, to reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 40 pounds. The position requires the ability to drive and a valid drivers license.

Summary

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive:
- Help negotiate agreements with stakeholders, partners, and others.
- Provide technical assistance and analysis on urban planning and infrastructure projects.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement efforts.
- Assist with real estate matters and transactions.
- Attend and participate in URA events including Board of Commissioner meetings and Finance Committee meetings.
- Conduct research, compile and prepare records or reports.
- Develop and maintain data bases.
- Provide administrative and technical support as needed
- Perform economic and financial analysis of proposed programs and/or projects; especially programs and/or projects including public finance components.
- Represent the URA at internal and external meetings as needed.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Thorough knowledge and experience of and with the URA’s goals, objectives, and plans, especially the North College Urban Renewal Plan and projects
- Knowledge and experience with urban renewal, and community development.
- Knowledge and experience with urban planning practices and programs.
- Knowledge of principles of project management; ability to manage time, organize and prioritize work effectively.
- Knowledge of standard office software including word processing.
- Knowledge and experience with the State of Colorado Urban Renewal Law.
- Superior oral and written communication skills; especially concise report writing and presentation.
- Effective interpersonal skills and experience managing relationships; especially business relationships both within and outside of the organization.
