PARKS FOREMAN II

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Skilled manual and lead work in landscaping operations. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Park Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Helps supervise and coordinate and performs actual work in the field of activities essential to the installation and maintenance of landscaping within public spaces and right of ways (ROW’s).
• Plans and prepares work schedules and assigns work to various crews; handles personnel problems.
• Prepares reports; maintains various records and time sheets.
• Inspects work in progress, modifies or adjusts work schedules, methods, crew sizes and related factors.
• Assists with ordering materials and equipment.
• Investigates complaints and takes corrective actions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to prepare work schedules, assign, lay out and supervise the work of several work crews sufficient to obtain a good level of efficient production.
• Ability to prepare accurate reports.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Two (2) years skilled work in landscape maintenance activities.

(A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:

• Class "B" Commercial Florida Driver's License.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

• Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
• Heavy lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds)
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid)
• Walking, reaching, pushing, walking, standing, crawling
• Kneeling, bending, stooping, driving

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

• Works inside
• Works outside in various weather conditions with: noise, dust
• Uneven surfaces
• In or with moving vehicles
