Facilities Maintenance Manager

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee operations of Facilities Maintenance Management, including routine and preventive maintenance, custodial tasks, and minor repairs
- Ensure efficient division operations while minimizing operational expenses
- Supervise and administer renovation and facility service contracts
- Maintain facility standards including ventilation, air quality, cleanliness, and sanitation
- Direct the preventative maintenance program and related software
- Manage remodeling, renovation projects, and supervise maintenance personnel and contractors
- Develop and manage budgets, review expenditures, and coordinate purchases
- Ensure compliance with regulatory inspections and safety requirements
- Manage recycling, waste management, and facility-related environmental requirements
- Oversee utility systems, HVAC, mechanical systems, and building automation
- Interpret safety, fire, and public access regulations
- Integrate climate and energy projects into work plans
- Manage inventory and purchase necessary supplies and equipment
- Lead staff management, including task assignment, performance evaluation, and training
- High school diploma or equivalent with 7 years in facilities management OR
- Trade school certificate/associate's degree with 5 years in facilities management OR
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with 3 years in facilities management
- Valid driver's license from the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Preferred: Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), and HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of building maintenance and mechanical systems
- Effective organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work with diverse teams and maintain effective relationships
- Proficiency in using facilities management software and office equipment
- Light work: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally
- May involve emergency on-call duties and exposure to various environmental conditions
- Regular activities: sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and operating City vehicles
