What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concession Crew Member - Recreation Crew Member position at City of Gahanna?
Under the supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor, the Concession Crew Member position includes the following duties:
Licensure or Certification Requirements
Knowledge of
- Assists the Pool Managers, Aquatics Coordinators, and Guest Services staff in the daily operations of the aquatics facilities by performing tasks and duties as assigned.
- Independently responsible for concessions stand, food preparation, and customer service at the aquatics site.
- Ensures exceptional food safety standards are maintained.
- Concessions Crew Members are expected to be available throughout the entire season for at least 20 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week.
- Referral Bonus
- Any applicant can refer up to 4 candidates ($50* per candidate). Â Rehires are not eligible to be referred but are encouraged to refer other candidates. Â When completing the online application, the applicant must include the first and last name of the person who referred them to apply. Â The person who referred the candidate does NOT need to be an active employee at the time of the application.
- Family members are NOT eligible to be referred.
- Onboarding Bonus
- All seasonal employees who are fully onboarded and ready to work by May 1st will receive a $100* bonus
- *All applicable taxes will be deducted from the bonus payments.
- Provides positive customer service to patrons through concession and retail sales.
- Ability to enforce pool rules professionally.
- Maintains the concessions stand, and restrooms in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Adherence to food service rules and regulations set by the Franklin County Board of Health
Licensure or Certification Requirements
- Current American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Administering Emergency Oxygen certificate preferred.
- Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain before employment is required.Â
- Minimum 15 years of age
- Provide availability and scheduling information following assigned deadlines.
- Attend all required training.
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by Pool Manager, Aquatics Coordinator, and/or Recreation Supervisor *
Knowledge of
- Basic principles and practices used in customer service.Â
- Basic office environment practices
- All computer applications and hardware related to the performance of the essential functions of the job, including recreation reservation and activity software.
- Cash handling and procedures. Â Â
- Work independently.
- Adhere to regulations, policies, and procedures required by the State of Ohio, Franklin County Board of Health, the City of Gahanna, and all other regulatory/governing bodies.
- Understand and follow instructions from Pool Manager, Aquatics Coordinators, and Recreation SupervisorÂ
- Handle and balance a cash drawer.
- The employee is subject to inside and outside environment conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, and atmospheric conditions.Â
- This is heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions.Â
