Entry level para-professional and technical work promoting natural gas, energy and water conservation in the residential customer sector.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs residential energy surveys by inspecting the envelope of the building, including windows and doors, attic insulation, ventilation and duct work, and heating and cooling systems.
Provides information to homeowners pertaining to the energy survey, including conservation measures.
Makes recommendations based on findings and answers questions.
Researches and makes recommendations on customer high bill complaints.
Inspects conservation measures installed by customers and contractors to insure compliance with program standards.
Attends work on continuous and regular basis.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in science, math, engineering or related field;
or an Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in science, math, engineering or related field; and two (2) years of experience in utility work and public relations that include energy management or engineering disciplines related to energy and/or water;
or a high school degree or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and four (4) years of experience in utility work and public relations that include energy management or engineering disciplines related to energy and/or water.
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
Licenses
Valid driver license required upon appointment. Valid Florida Driver License required within 30 days of start date and at all time while employed in this classification.
Certifications
None.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of energy auditing and energy efficiency processes, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of related equipment and HVAC systems.
Knowledge of computers and relevant software.
Knowledge of functions and operations involved in general building structures and lighting, heating, and air conditioning systems.
Skill in performance of energy surveys of residential structures.
Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
Ability to use math and to perform computations and calculations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
Ability to work effectively with co-workers and the general public.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work may require physical strength and agility.

Work may require performance of tasks outdoors under varying climatic conditions.
