Outside of the Aquatics Cashier position, Aquatics positions within the City of Glendale require certifications BEFORE hiring but come with a better hourly wage. If you are interested in better pay, check out our Lifeguard certification courses. If you get certified as a Lifeguard, be sure to apply for the proper position through our application website. City of Glendale offerings for Lifeguard Training for new Lifeguards typically occurs between February 2025 to March 2025, but we do accept trainings from other entities that teach Lifeguarding from American Red Cross or StarGuard. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Completed at least two years of high school preferred
At least 1 year of previous cash, credit card, and check handling experience in a business setting preferred.
Applicants are preferred to have a valid Arizona Driver’s License.
Fluency to read, write, and speak English is required. Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
CPR Certification.
- Must be a proficient swimmer.
Essential physical abilities:
Sufficient clarity of hearing with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern emergency situations.
Sufficient visual clarity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern emergency situations, discern colors and comprehend written work instructions as well as rules and regulations.
Sufficient strength to lift objects over 50 pounds.
Sufficient body flexibility and balance to perform rescue and first aid operations and occupy a lifeguard station accessible by ladder or perform walking duties.
- This position is subject to extreme heat and cold for periods of more than one hour and, subject to noise, sun exposure and extreme weather conditions.
