About Us : The City of Glendale Parks and Recreation Department is split into two distinct areas :
- The Parks Division manages and maintains all public parks, open spaces, trails, storm water retention basins, landscaping at municipal facilities and Thunderbird Conservation Park. The Division is also responsible for monitoring and ensuring the safety and security of park and facility use.
- The Recreation Division offers opportunities to enhance the social, physical, mental and economic health of our community through a variety of diverse recreation programs and facilities. Recreation programs and events are held at the Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center, the Glendale Adult Center, Historic Sahuaro Ranch, the five community centers and at basketball, tennis, skate courts and other recreation facilities throughout the city.
The Role :

The City of Glendale Aquatics Center is looking to fill Temporary Aquatics Cashier positions. Potential employees must be available during the entire summer aquatics season. Please answer the questions in the application to declare which shifts you are available to work. We are in need of weekday mornings all the way through weekday afternoons as well as weekends.
Required training sessions will be held as needed.
The listed positions for summer positions are up to 40 hours per week for up to 14 weeks with no benefits as well as a possible opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week for up to the remaining 38 weeks in the year with no benefits. The summer jobs will be performed at both our Rose Lane Aquatics Center (5003 West Marlette Ave, 85301). However, you are hired to the City of Glendale Aquatics Cashier, not to a specific pool.
Outside of the Aquatics Cashier position, Aquatics positions within the City of Glendale require certifications BEFORE hiring but come with a better hourly wage. City of Glendale offerings for Lifeguard Training for new Lifeguards typically occurs between February 2025 to March 2025, but we do accept trainings from other entities that teach Lifeguarding from American Red Cross or StarGuard. American Red Cross is preferred.
