What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Recreation Aide (Part-Time) position at City of Glenn Heights?
Under the direct supervision of the Parks & Recreation Superintendent, the employee will perform daily program activities at the Glenn Heights Senior Center including new member intakes, weekly documentation and grant compliance procedures and distribution of daily meals to facility members in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
Note: This is a Summer Seasonal position.
Essential duties and functions may include the following. Must possess required knowledge skills, abilities and experience and to be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations that the essential functions of the job can be performed. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Scheduling and delivery of daily program meals to residential locations within the City of Glenn Heights.
- Accurately complete grant documentation related to the meal distribution program.
- Upon re-opening of the Senior Center, employee will assist in the serving of daily meals to facility members.
- Assist in the administration of program activities at the Senior Center.
- Transport members to programmed field trips and events using a City passenger vehicle.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Parks & Recreation Superintendent.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1-year experience in food safety and handling.
- Texas Class “C" driver’s license.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Ability to obtain certification as a Food Safety Manager.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, written correspondence and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Exceptional Customer Service Skills and Practices
- Basic understanding vehicle safety rules and operating procedures.

- The incumbent may perform work in an outdoor environment with exposure to hazardous and unpleasant conditions in extreme temperatures including heat, cold, temperature swings and inclement weather.

- May be required to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds of equipment multiple times per day.
Salary : $21 - $25
