This is a part time position with the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. This position will be responsible for assisting in the delivery and supervision of various City sponsored athletic and recreational programs and activities.

Assists Recreation Coordinator in supervising various City sponsored athletic and recreational programs and events.
Request, issue and monitor the return of athletic equipment.
Assist Recreation Coordinator in maintaining required records regarding assigned programs.
Prepare and setup recreation facility for use and monitor and supervise groups using the City’s recreational facilities.
Assist Recreation Coordinator with the promotion of City sponsored athletic and recreational programs and events.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Basic first aid and general safety practices.
Ability to:
Lead a variety of athletic and recreational activities.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Communicate effectively and courteously.
Work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
Lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs without assistance.

Physical Requirements
The essential duties of this position are performed indoors in a both recreational facility and outdoors in a park or playground setting. Incumbents assigned to this position must be physically capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing a minimum of 50lbs without assistance on a daily basis. Incumbents assigned to this position must be physically capable of using both vision and hearing during the performance of assigned duties in order to identify and evaluate filed emergencies. Incumbents assigned to this position must also be physically able to respond to such emergencies as appropriate. Additionally, incumbents assigned to this position must be physically capable of bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching above shoulder height in order to perform daily duties. Incumbents assigned to this position can expect to perform essential job duties in a variety of work environments where the incumbent can reasonably expect to be exposed to various weather conditions such as extreme heat and prolonged exposure to the sun, wind, rain, hail and lightning as well as dust, chemical cleaning agents and moderately loud noise levels on a routine basis. The duties of this position require that the incumbent be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
