What are the responsibilities and job description for the Harm Reduction Advocate position at City of Grand Forks (ND)?
This intern will perform a wide variety of responsible and complex technical duties in support of the Syringe Service Program. As the primary contact for established syringe service program participants, the Harm Reduction Advocate prioritizes meeting clients “where they are,” respecting individual dignity, and providing non-judgmental, non-coercive services and resources while establishing positive relationships with clients to support participant-driven positive change.
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University as a full or part-time student.
- Has a current minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Able to work 10-20 hours in summer.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrates initiative, strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information.
- Exercises sound judgment with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently to manage complex tasks with minimum supervision.
- Proficient with data systems and Microsoft Office products.
