Job Title: Seasonal Maintenance-Streets Department

Reports To: Director of Public Works

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Streets Supervisor, this position performs seasonal work for the City of Great Bend’s Streets Department. Duties include assisting with concrete and asphalt repair, working at the compost site, and helping to maintain the city’s levee system. This role supports various public works projects to ensure safe and efficient operations of city infrastructure.

This position is temporary and FLSA non-exempt.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and communicate the same to staff.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to recognize, mitigate, and correct unsafe conditions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a minimum of a Class C driver’s license, Class B CDL preferred, and have a satisfactory driving record.

Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
