Job Summary:
The Facilities Service Worker position is an essential part of the Department of Culture, Parks, and Recreation. This position is responsible for facility cleaning and maintenance at one of six CPRD facilities that may include the UCCC, Recreation Center, Senior Center, Family Funplex, Ice Haus, or Rodarte Center. This position will primarily be located at the Family Funplex. In addition, this position is expected to communicate effectively with their supervisor and various CPRD staff for setup and tear down of events.

Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Colorado drivers license.
Preferred
- One year of related experience.
- Bilingual – English/Spanish.

Essential Functions:
Facility Maintenance
- Directly responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of one CPRD facility.
- Operates small equipment such as buffers, vacuums, extractors, and lifts.
- Provides general maintenance and repairs including light replacement, painting, and upkeep for theater seats and rails, tables, chairs, and bleachers.
- Assists in deep cleaning projects at multiple facilities during closures.
- Communicates with supervisor all custodial and cleaning supply needs.
- Removes trash and provides maintenance of building exterior and grounds.
Customer Service and Event Setup
- Provides setup and tear down for facilities events.
- Demonstrates a high level of internal and external customer service.
- Communicates effectively with staff to ensure event needs are met.
Reporting to Supervisor
- Meets weekly with the Crew Leader and provide update on staff, facilities, events, and maintenance.
Communication
- Event setup needs.
- Reports any cleaning deficiencies or problems that may arise with contractors performing work at Recreation Center, Active Adult Center, and Family Funplex.
- Orders supplies for City facilities.
- Communicates maintenance needs.
Problem solving and decision making
- Establishes routines and standing instructions that provide clear and defined framework of operations.
- Follows instructions that provide some latitude to consider variations in sequences of procedures based on situations encountered.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Frequent interruptions and heavy public contact.
- Required to work weekdays, nights, weekends, evenings and some holidays.
- Work can be in adverse weather or extremely cold conditions and may be exposed to dust, fumes and chemicals.
- Manual labor, prolonged standing and walking.
- Strength and stamina enough to walk, stand, stretch, bend, lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity enough to complete daily work such as equipment repair, hand tools, drive and operate motor vehicles.
- Operate vacuums, buffers, floor scrubbers, extractors, and hydraulic lifts.
Travel:
This position travels 20% of the time.
