Job Summary: The Recreation Coordinator II – Food & Beverage Operations is an integral part of the City of Greeley's Recreation Division within the Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department. Reporting to the Recreation Manager, the coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, preparation, and management of food and beverage services offered at Greeley Recreation soccer and ball fields, outdoor pools, and ice rink, to include overseeing liquor sales. This role involves ensuring high-quality service, compliance with health/safety/alcohol regulations, managing inventory, coordinating with event planners, and maintaining a positive guest experience. This position is also directly responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation of the part-time staff in support of food and beverage operations.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food service management or related field preferred: equivalent experience may be considered.
- One to three (1-3) years of special event programming experience in food service management.
- Current certification in Community CPR, First Aid and AED or within 3 months of hire.
Preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

- Computer and technology skills to include Microsoft Office software, recreation software (Amilia), Connect2Concepts, and When 2 Work.
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining specific food service equipment.
- Skills in recruiting, training, supervising, evaluating, motivating employees.

Essential Functions:
- Plans and coordinates food and beverage menus for events, programs, and daily operations within the Recreation Division indoor and outdoor facilities and locations tailored to seasonal demand and event scheduling.
- Oversees food preparation, ensuring meals, snacks, and beverages are prepared and served according to quality standards.
- Oversees liquor sales, including inventory tracking, regulatory compliance, and staff training on responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS certification).
- Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation of food and beverages.
- Maintains concession equipment, supplies, and inventory to ensure smooth operations.
- Manages special event food services, including setup, serving, and cleanup.
- Works directly with the Communications and Engagement Department to ensure marketing materials, menu boards, and social media sites are updated with accurate information.
- Sets up food service operations to ensure proper layout, signage, and accessibility.
- Develops and executes strategies to enhance the profitability and efficiency of concessions at each location.
- Conducts regular staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Utilizes When2Work scheduling software to schedule employees.
- Develops and mentors staff to ensure service/product quality, and positive customer interactions.
- Works with maintenance staff to ensure all preventative maintenance occurs on a regular basis.
- Maintains reporting functions related to the sale of alcohol. Develops reports and measures performance in support of department and division goals.
- Maintains staff certification records including ServeSafe, TIPS, CPR, First Aid, AED Training ,and other required certifications.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including liquor licensing, food safety, and workplace safety laws.
- Reviews and maintains online and in-person trainings through the City of Greeley Training Courses.
- Monitors food and beverage inventory, ensuring timely orders and restocking to avoid shortages.
- Tracks costs and establish pricing for food and beverage products.
- Analyzes sales data and adjust inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing waste.
- Responsible for preparation and administration of the food and beverage area budget and related funds.
- Negotiates contracts with vendors and outside contractors.
- Works closely with internal partners and attend planning meetings to ensure food and beverage needs are met for each operation and event.
- Administers surveys and conduct focus groups to gauge customer satisfactions level, gain constructive feedback and improve operations.
- Updates and monitors Recreation website and social media outlets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Strength and stamina enough to walk, stand, stretch, bend, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity enough to complete daily work such as operate computer keyboards, drive and operate motor vehicles, and operate other office equipment and complete paperwork
- May be required to assist individuals loading and unloading from vans
Travel
- Approximately 10% flexible, local travel required
