What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leisure Programs Operations Assistant - GRASP / Summer Day Camp position at City of Green River?
Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of duties involved in the planning, organization, and coordination of Green River After School Programs (GRASP) and/or Summer Day Camp activities. Operations Assistants also provide general information and assistance to the public. This is a part-time, non-benefited position.
Perform equipment/facility setup, as well as post activity cleanup .
Coordinate/oversee youth recreation activities.
Interact with patrons, parents and other staff in a friendly, professional manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, twist, and grasp; work with hands above shoulder height with up to 40 lbs.; work with arms extended at shoulder height with up to 20 lbs.; lift or carry 50 lbs. or less and push and/or pull heavy weights (over 75 lbs) on a regular basis; and exposure to hot, cold, and outdoors.
- Operations Assistants do not exercise supervision over other staff members, but may supervise participants in group activities.
- Operations Assistants report to the Recreation Supervisor in charge of the assigned program.
The following functions & duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address City needs and changing business practices.

- Troubleshoot and operate electrical equipment.
- Handle any crisis situation and work under outside pressure.
- Communicate on a daily basis, in responding to questions or complaints, and enforcing rules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Consideration will be given to applicants currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent educational program.
- Any combination of training and experience that would provide necessary instruction skills and expertise in area of instruction.
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Valid First Aid certification.
