Full Salary Range : $45,017 - $80,557 Annually Hiring Range : $45,017 - $59,233 Annually depending on qualifications, with an excellent benefits package. Work Schedule : Monday - Thursday 6 : 30 am - 4 : 30 pm, and Friday 6 : 30 am - 10 : 30 am
Primary Duties / Brief Description of Work :
The Engineering Projects Coordinator plans, coordinates, and administers public utility (Duke Energy, AT&T, natural gas, gas pipelines, roadway projects, etc.) location and relocations and inspects public utility installations within the right of way areas of the City of Greensboro, both aerial and underground. The employee in this position will review public utility plans, issue right of way encroachment permits, and will inspect public utility installation work from various utility companies to ensure proper restoration of the right of way, and inspect asphalt and concrete removal and replacement due to public utility installation. Courteous and effective communication with the City, private engineering, applicable public utility companies and contractor / development community will be required. This employee will also be expected to interpret engineering plans for public utility construction and installation in order to minimize City of Greensboro public improvement project costs and will be on call for the Emergency Management Team as needed. Additional duties include, but are not limited to : verifying quantities, monitoring public utility costs for relocations, approve / deny final work, and collect fees for work within the public right of way. The employee in this position with conduct site visits to ensure compliance with City ordinances and standard polices and will attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings on both City and private developer projects. The successful candidate should have a general understanding of engineering drawings as applicable to roadway and public utility installations; basic surveying and the ability to interpret construction plans, diagrams, specifications and field stake-outs; a working knowledge of the procedures / practices commonly used in roadway and public utility construction; general knowledge of materials and testing for asphalt, concrete, and use of density methods; and the experience and knowledge of the characteristics and properties of power lines, cables, fiber optic, gas lines, small cellular sites, traffic signals and services they provide is imperative. The ideal candidate would be familiar with NCDOT, Railroad, and City standard specifications and ordinances. They would also have the Emergency Management Institute FEMA Certification and NCDOT and / or American Concrete Institute Concrete Testing Inspection Certification but must be obtained within 2 years of employment.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
- High School Diploma / GED with 7-9 years of experience with and / or knowledge of Public Utility (for example : Duke Energy, AT&T, natural gas, gas pipelines, roadway projects, etc.) in Construction Inspection & Installation, to include utility encroachments
- OR No High School Diploma / GED with 9-11 years of experience with and / or knowledge of Public Utility (for example : Duke Energy, AT&T, natural gas, gas pipelines, roadway projects, etc.) in Construction Inspection & Installation, to include utility encroachments
- OR Associate's Degree with 5-7 years of experience with and / or knowledge of Public Utility (for example : Duke Energy, AT&T, natural gas, gas pipelines, roadway projects, etc.) in Construction Inspection & Installation, to include utility encroachments
- Valid Driver's License
- Prior experience reading civil and utility plans
- Prior experience with Asphalt & Concrete Placement
