Full Salary Range: $37,807.00 $67,655.00
Expected Hiring Range: $42,072 - $55,358, based on qualifications.

Work Schedule:
One position is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 3:00AM-1:00PM OFF Wednesday. Some Saturdays (on a rotation basis).

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation of front-loader, side loader collection vehicles, and a knuckle boom truck as needed. The selected applicant must possess the ability to service approximately 150 stationary containers (dumpsters) and must possess the ability to service up to a 1000 containers (carts) per day in a safe and efficient manner. The employee must possess the ability to follow written and heuristically prepared routes; operate two-way radios; and communicate effectively in verbal and written form. This individual must be able to prepare written survey sheets and vehicle inspection forms. Operators work closely with other operators performing the same tasks under limited supervision, demonstrating team-oriented work ethics. This person must have and maintain a safe driving record.
The position is assigned to a 40-hour work schedule, which is a flex schedule depending on the needs of the workload. This schedule is subject to change during a holiday week or for emergency service which may require working a flexible schedule with little or no notice and may include weekends, or holidays. Early morning reporting times and working during inclement weather are required. This employee must have good attendance.
The physical duties include: standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, shoveling, and heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. Work is performed outside in all weather conditions. This employee must maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License and a reliable means of contact such as home or cellular telephone. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.

What You Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED, with 1 years of experience in the Solid Waste Industry (refuse, recycling), OR
- No High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of experience in the Solid Waste Industry
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training on front-loader or other automated collection equipment
