About the Role:
The Simkins Facility Operations Coordinator will report to the Barber Park Special Events Facilities Supervisor. This role is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all activities hosted in the Simkins facility. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating events and supervising activities such as open gym, practices, rentals, trainings, tournaments, and special events.
- Assisting with operations at the Barber Park Event Center.
- Responding promptly to inquiries regarding rentals, events, and related services.
- Preparing the facility for events and rentals, including setup, teardown, and cleaning.
- Maintaining an accurate cash drawer, change fund, and cash journal.
- Assisting in training, scheduling, and overseeing roster staff based on facility needs.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
The physical requirements of this role include standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and walking on uneven surfaces. The position also involves lifting and moving tables, chairs, and other items regularly, with heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. Must have reliable means of transportation.
This job is Non-Exempt and subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
What You Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Experience with recreation, special events, and/or program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Customer service experience.
- Experience handling cash and processing fees.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with recreation management software.
- Experience working in a recreation center environment.
