The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Cultural Arts Assistant in our Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.
Responsibilities: Assists the events team with a high number of events, ranging from small meetings to large ceremonies. Accompanies events team to events to help oversee and administer successful outcomes for event guests. May participate in event promotion, using social media. Supports the events team with logistical and administrative duties. Sets up and breaks down tables and chairs abiding by a floor plan as decided by clients at engagement. Conducts pre- and post-checks of facilities to ensure they are in good order. Assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, set-up, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants. Performs repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event. Interacts with the public by responding to phone calls, taking messages, routing calls, providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions. Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability, and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar. Maintains records and files on activities and events; receives and receipts payments; assists with Cultural Arts inventory and related supplies and records. Performs related work as required.
Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalency. One (1) year experience in general administration or related training and education. Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver history.
Hours: Part time, nights and weekend position for rentals of the Center for the Arts.
Salary: Minimum $15.26 hourly; dependent on experience
