What are the responsibilities and job description for the GROUNDSKEEPER I position at City Of Greer?
The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Groundskeeper I in our Public Services Department.
Responsibilities: Performs ground maintenance such as mowing and trimming lawns, trimming shrubbery and trees, performs weed control, picks up litter and other refuse, rakes leaves, etc.; Performs landscaping activities including erosion control; Maintains the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of the restrooms in public recreational facilities; Assists the Events Staff with set-up and clean-up of scheduled events; Performs custodial work as necessary including trash disposal, cleaning floors, vacuuming, etc. prior to and following scheduled events; May assist with various minor repairs to recreational facilities to ensure proper operation and security, which involves mending fences, performing light carpentry and masonry work, minor installation and repair of fixtures, plumbing, etc.; Utilizes various tools and equipment/machinery in the performance of the job such as tractors, trucks, power tools, carpenter tools, paint sprayers, chain saws, floor equipment, mechanic tools, etc.
Job Requirements: High School diploma/GED, self-motivated and experience in grounds and/or facility maintenance. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, Saturday - Wednesday, 7:00am-3:30pm with Thurs - Sunday off bi-weekly.
Salary: Minimum $18.60 hourly; dependent on experience
