The Human Resources Department will accept City of Groton employment applications for the position of IT Support Specialist.
The City of Groton has an opening in our Utilities – Information Technology Department. Groton Utilities is a leader in Southeastern Connecticut, providing electric, water, and other services with exceptional customer service, value and quality. We are currently searching for an IT Support Specialist I which under the supervision of the IT Support Supervisor, provides technology support to all users and/or customers supported by the IT Dept.
Work Hours: The normal work hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday but may vary depending on the operational needs of the City.
Qualifications: Include a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience required. Must have specialized knowledge of computer hardware, software, Windows operating systems and basic business applications such as Microsoft 365 Suite, Teams, Adobe, etc.. Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in applying knowledge in a team-oriented and collaborative technology support field. Must perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Pay Range is $25.68-$32.50 (dependent on skills/experience) and is benefit eligible including participation in medical and dental insurance, the city Retirement Program and paid time off for vacation, sick and personal time and holidays. Pre-employment physical exam including drug screen, background check and references are required. Must successfully pass a national fingerprint-based records check in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Criminal Justic Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy prior to assignment.
