PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER IV
$20.83 per hour
The Parks Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks to include construction and maintenance of park / playground facilities and other park areas or locations as required. Operates and maintains various light and heavy duty trucks, various specialized mowing and grounds equipment, using woodworking, hand and power tools, front end loaders, etc. Work schedule could include Saturday or Sunday.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have (6) six years of experience related to duties.
License & Certification: Must have a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record (CDL Preferred)
Physical Requirements: Defined as heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force to move objects occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly, worker is standing and /or in motion most of the time.
Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to, layout, construction, maintenance and repairs in areas of painting, carpentry, concrete, masonry, plumbing (start-up and winterizing), installation and repair of playground equipment; construction and repair of picnic tables, benches, decks, bleachers, and bridges; operates light and heavy duty trucks, tractors, snow plows, chippers, rollers and other park related equipment; performs maintenance on equipment and tools; performs inspections and preventive maintenance on park and recreation buildings; performs duties and assignments under adverse weather conditions; works overtime in emergencies as required; assists the public as necessary and whenever possible.
