What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant City Manager position at City of Hallandale Beach?
Supports the City Manager by providing operational and administrative oversight to assigned City departments, ensuring goals and objectives are accomplished and interdepartmental coordination is maximized. Coordinates City programs and activities with outside agencies and organizations. Assists the City Manager with the direction and coordination of activities. Provides leadership in policy formation and implementation of policies and procedures. Promotes effective and efficient operations throughout the organization by facilitating interdepartmental cooperation and the sharing of resources.
Position is primarily focused on directing, coaching, developing, and evaluating other people towards the completion of departmental goals. Position has knowledge of and sensitivity to a diverse community, capital programs, redevelopment, and budgeting. Position requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop and implement policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the organization's business strategies.

Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning or a closely related field; master's degree preferred; supplemented by ten (10) or more years' progressively responsible administrative and analytical experience in a public sector setting, with at least three (3) years working in a City or County Manager's Office, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. Manager certification from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is preferred. Must have a valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

Salary : $128,435 - $218,339
