Performs and provides a variety of administrative support functions in the Human Resources related day-to-day operations of the Public Works Department, including recruitment, onboarding, screening of candidates, disciplinary actions, personnel evaluations, policies, procedures, and employee relations. This position involves regular contact with the public, frequent exposure to confidential information and completion of complex correspondence and reports. Work is performed under general supervision of the Human Resources/Risk Management Department and Public Works Department with minimal latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment based on professional education and previous experience.

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field. Two (2) years of experience relevant to the major duties/essential functions of the position, preferably in a human resources environment. Recruitment experience highly preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
