The City of Hampton is seeking a dedicated Community Centers Manager to oversee the promotion, coordination, operation, and evaluation of recreational programs and activities. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our community centers provide engaging, high-quality experiences for residents of all ages. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. May supervise others.Minimum RequirementsRequires a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, Education, or a related field. Requires a minimum of five years of full-time equivalent progressively responsible experience planning and directing neighborhood programs and a minimum of one year managing the work of others.Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion. This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current substance abuse policy.Additional RequirementsRequires shift work to include some nights, weekends and holidays.May require some local travel.The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during city emergency situations, or at the direction of the City Manager or designee which may include long hours and unusual schedulesClick here for a complete job description.
