The Athletic Fields Grounds Crew Worker position is a seasonal position (no benefits) with a preferred hiring rate of $14.78 per hour. The ideal candidates for this position will perform a variety of manual labor work in the care and maintenance of athletic facilities.
This position is budgeted for work hours through October 2025. All applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of availability to work through the end of October 2025.
As an Athletic Fields Grounds Crew Worker, you'll be responsible for the following:
- Mowing/edging of athletic fields;
- Dragging and lining of athletic fields;
- Rebuilding of mounds and home plate areas with clay;
- Collecting trash;
- Watering of athletic fields;
- Using a variety of equipment and power tools, including but not limited to lawn mowers, blowers, trimmers, edgers, and power-washers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of the tenth grade or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or GED, preferred.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age prior to hire date, approximately 3 weeks after initial application date if selected.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Experience in athletic field maintenance or experience as a former athlete is preferred but not required.
- Some knowledge of the safe use, operation, and preventive maintenance of the equipment assigned;
- Skill in the use of hand tools and equipment assigned;
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions.
The selected candidates for this position will be subject to the following screenings and must receive satisfactory results:
- DMV record review;
- Job-specific physical; and
- Criminal background check.
